An Early Access Date, A Steam Page, And A Price: Pantheon Rise Of The Fallen Heading To Primetime
Now it's time to see exactly what the public at large thinks of the MMORPG.
Man, it has been a LONG road to arrive at this post. Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen's early access now has a release date, a price, and has confirmed a release on Steam. Listen, the team at Visionary Realms has had many ups and downs over the years. Whether you're a fan of the MMORPG's "old school" style or not, you've likely been around long enough to know about the game's missteps. Whether it is financing or the title's misguided and rolled back "247 extraction" mode, it hasn't all been roses.
Now it's time to find out if the MMO is truly ready for primetime.
Here's the scoop: Early access starts on December 13th, the price for access will be a single box fee of $39.99, and Pantheon will be released via Steam. It should be noted that while early access has no subscription or anything, this isn't the final launch decision. Launch could feature other monetization options. We'll need to wait and see.
A new trailer drops all the other specifics, but that's the main beats here today. 6 zones, multiple classes and professions, the acclimation system (weather-based), and more will be included in early access, but the team does remind everyone that this is NOT the full launch of the MMO.
That's where things get a little dicey for me. When you open up early access and you start asking for money, you open yourself up to being critiqued as if you were fully launched, fair or not (it's fair). Pledges have been giving money for access to Pantheon for a while, but they knew full well going in that they were testing portions of the game for that donation. Early access is a different beast.
Speaking of pledges, if you want to toss in on the $50 pledge before November ends, the team is adding a buddy key for you as a retroactive "Thank You."
Will you be hopping into early access or will you be waiting for the full release?
