American McGee Unveils Akaneiro, New Action RPG
American McGee one of the developers behind Quake and the founder of SpicyHorse, the studio responsible for the dark and very sinister "Alice: Madness Returns", unveiled their newest project today, an action RPG titled Akaneiro.
Set in the turn of the century Japan, players take on the role of red hunters, members of an elite and ancient group of demon hunters. Players will undertake field missions to fight demons, mythical monsters and wolves. No one knows why wolves were included along with demons and mythical monsters to fight but one can only assume those wolves will be undoubtedly mythical and perhaps also demons.
Not much else is known so far about the new RPG. The trailer above shows off the surprisingly colorful world that is inspired by the hand-painted art of Japan and its folklore. The combat looks decidedly Diablo 3 which makes sense since the website touts features that are commonly the main focus in dungeon crawler games such as Diablo. Players will have the opportunity to loot, buy and trade thousands of items they collect in the world. The website also mentions being able to define your own hunter class by controlling its development, choosing abilities, specializations, and stat growth that best suits your personal play style.
You can sign up for the closed beta on the official website now (although no start date is given yet). Check out the trailer and let us know what you think!

When games get revamped it usually means one of two things; either the game turns into something horrible (some cases even more horrible then before) or it breathes new life into the game.

The mech hero shooter combines battle royal and extraction mechanics.
2025 will see the game's full release.
The massive Red Alert event will be on all available platforms.
Solo offline mode will be available if you own the title, but you better grab it soon if you want it.
When I saw action RPG, I was like 'Ooo will it be like RaiderZ where you don't use point and click'
But this obviously has some point and click in it (especially with the movement)...
And another thing is that it's an instance game! Which means it will lack social features and all you can mainly do is get in a room with people and start the game!
we've played diablo 2 already, move on developers xD
Finally someone recognizes the impact that wolves have. If you look at it more closely you will see that every game ever made that had no wolves or badly designed wolves has failed. It's a fact. ( Don't bother thinking about it, just accept it.)
But seriously, i can't wait to see those wolves.
I loved American McGees Alice but i can't say i'm overly excited about another aRPG. I hope it packs more than just awesome wolves.
P.S. I wonder how long he hated hes parents for naming him American.
