Almost Four Years After Entering Early Access, Slapshot: Rebound Is Prepared To Officially Launch
The developers are celebrating five years of the Slapshot IP as well.
Today, Oddshot Games announced the full release of its 3v3 hockey game Slapshot: Rebound. The 1.0 update will drop on Steam on April 11, officially leaving an Early Access period that began in late 2020. The update will also kick off Season 1 with a new virtual hangout spot: The Pond. It will also include a new season pass.
The Pond is a free-play open lobby mode that anyone can hop into and hang out casually. This is a way for players to spend time while waiting in queue and includes an air hockey rink, two target practice areas, and a sumo minigame.
The sports game’s launch announcement also happens to coincide with five years of the Slapshot IP existing. The original game launched on this day in 2019. In honor of the anniversary, Oddshot is offering players a code to receive a poker chip back cosmetic – a nod to the OG Slapshot characters being poker chips in alpha. The code FIVEYEARS can be used until March 22.
