Albion Online Starts 2023 With Roads Of Avalon Changes Skewing Some Content Away From Larger Groups
A new "Streamer Mode" has also been added to the MMO.
Before 2022 closed, Sandbox Interactive published a bit of a retrospective on Albion Online, how 2022 went, and what the team's plans were to kick off 2023. In that wrap-up, Sandbox Interactive teased more changes coming to both "Roads of Avalon" and "Beyond the Veil" based on players' feedback.
Remember, when "Beyond the Veil" launched, "Roads of Avalon" received a bit of a revamp in that update, but now it's time for some more changes.
In today's patch, "Roads of Avalon" has quite a few revamps being made to skew the content away from being targeted directly at larger groups. While initially groups were the target for the content, Sandbox decided, after hearing about it from players, that this group content focus may not actually be in line with the overall design philosophy of Albion Online.
In an effort to open up the content to a wider variety of players without taking content away from players currently diving in, the team has reworked mobs around chests to be balanced for 1-3 players instead of larger groups... well, SOME chests that is. Camps now marked in green on the map have this tuning but there are still other colored camps on your map that cater towards larger groups. Chests and camps also have a faster respawn timer.
Even the zone received a bit of a graphical update in today's patch and Sandbox added a "Streamer Mode" that, when enabled, hides certain UI elements so your stream audience can't locate you in game.
The patch also brings a slew of combat balance changes and bug fixes so make sure to check out the patch notes before you dive in.
If you want to be part of the game's feedback chain, Albion Online is currently running a 2022 Year-End survey you can jump in and take right now.
