After 11 Years, Albion Online Introduces New Game Directors

Albion Online Game Director Robin Henkys is ready to pass the torch. Today, he announced who would be taking his place in his final Dev Talk video, titled “Meet the new Creative Directors”. As he noted in the video, the team elected to look inside the company for his replacements, meaning the individuals chosen are already knowledgeable about the F2P MMORPG.

Henkys says that his decision to leave the director's chair stems from the game dominating his personal life. While the game has been his number one priority for over a decade, his life has changed since things started and the burnout is very real. Starting a family now means it's Henkys's turn to support his partner's professional ambitions.

In fact, those chosen are longtime members of the senior design team, Moritz Bokelmann and Michael Schwahn. They will be taking on the titles of Game Director and Co-Creative Director, respectively. Both were given an opportunity to introduce themselves in today’s video and offer insight into how they will execute their jobs.
