Albion Online Goes In-Depth With Fortifications Coming In The (Aptly Named) Foundations Update
Upgrade your Fortification and prepare for battle.
Albion Online is getting a pretty significant update later this month as the Foundations update looks to shake up the way fortifications in guild territories work. It looks like a fun new system for PvP-centric players to interact with, adding more depth and strategy to the MMORPG's siege system.
On April 15th all guild territories in Albion Online will receive an updated layout with the arrival of the Foundations update. The new layouts define the possible obstacles and upgrade paths in that territory. There will be five different layouts.
With the Foundations update in Albion Online, guild territories will begin to receive Fortification Points which reset at the end of every season. The amount of Fortification points generated depends on the territory's energy level.
Guards can be upgraded once per day, as can walls and gates. Clicking on what you want to upgrade opens a window that shows you the guild cost for upgrading that unit. During attacks, you can repair walls and gates using the siege hammer and upgraded walls give you more time to make those repairs.
The new systems for Fortifications in Guild territories looks to bring a lot more nuance and fun to the system, adding more strategic depth to the system. Everything talked about in the video below goes live on April 15th. The video is a great deep dive into the Fortifications systems coming to Albion Online with the Foundations update.
