Albion Online Is Already Talking About Its Next Major Update: Foundations
Foundations will introduce fortifications to Albion Online.
Hot off the heels of the Crystal Raiders update earlier this year, Albion Online is already looking forward to the MMORPG's next major update, Foundations. In this update, Albion Online is introducing a new territory control feature in Fortifications.
Guilds will be able to build and improve fortified walls and gates in territories in order to better defend their lands. The higher the tier of fortifications, the harder they will be to break through. Territory guards are also getting a rework and will also be upgradeable to unlock new abilities.
Start saving up your stone now because you'll be needing lots of it (or selling lots of it) to upgrade and secure these new fortifications.
This new fortification system in Albion Online will be further expanded in future updates with more choices for both attackers and defenders.
In order to incentivize attacking and defending territories even more, they will spawn daily reward chests based on player activity in the territory and surrounding regions, encouraging guilds to be active in their territories and discouraging them from attacking PvE players near their territories.
Interestingly, Albion Online is also adding a spectator mode which allows players to watch custom matches, opening the door for community-organized tournaments.
