Aladdin Comes To SMITE 2 Today With New Game Modes, F2P Open Beta Arrives Tomorrow
You'll no longer need to buy the founder's packs to play.
If you already own one of SMITE 2's founder's packs, you're getting a little bit of a head start on tomorrow's open beta launch. You've been able to play for months now and experience how the MOBA's team has been updating heroes, modes, and features, but tomorrow marks the beginning of broad-scale access via open beta.
That said, if you have a pack and jump in today, you do get that bit of a "head start" in checking out the latest hero and mode added. Today, you can play with Aladdin and take on the new Joust and Duel modes. The new Joust mode is a 3v3 blind pick affair and 1v1 duels take place on the Joust map with each player getting 2 bans.
If you plan to jump in tomorrow, the full patch notes are already up and they do a fair job of bringing you up to date on not only updates, but also some of the improvements over the original SMITE. Pay special attention the the new "God Aspects" feature listed in the notes. This system allows you to use an "aspect" of your favorite god and have a bit more flexibility over them allowing them to play in more roles while not totally losing some of the god's core kit.
The new Aladdin god comes from the also new Tales of Arabia pantheon and is a melee character focusing on magical damage with the help of, what else, a genie. Now to see who else we get in this pantheon in the future.
Hit up the latest Titan Talk below the Aladdin trailer and Joust preview below to get prepped for tomorrow.
