Ahoy! Sea Of Thieves Enters 2023 With Matchmaking And PVP Improvements As Well As A Brand-New Adventure
Batten down the hatches and prepare for a storm of PvP battles.
Sea of Thieves is starting the year strong with a new limited-time adventure, improved matchmaking, and shorter PvP queues. From now until February 2, Sea of Thieves players can join in on a new PvE adventure, 'The Secret Wilds'. This new adventure continues where the last one, ‘The Rogue’s Legacy’, left off; so players won’t want to miss the story's continuation.
This new update is also improving the matchmaking system that was first introduced in Season 8 as part of the game’s new PvP. One way matchmaking has been improved is the addition of same-faction battles when matchmaking is taking too long. This means that there should always be a battle available for players. Rare has also increased the number of PvP arenas from 6 to 50. This will hopefully allow for greater variety in competitive game modes.
