After Its 2018 Shutdown, Perfect World Entertainment Resurrects Jade Dynasty And Is In Early Development
There's even a pre-alpha test scheduled for next week, but there's a catch.
Under the name "Jade Dynasty World," Perfect World Entertainment has resurrected the IP as an Unreal Engine 4 open-world MMORPG. Development for the game is still early, but there is a scheduled pre-alpha test on August 19 for eager fans.
The original Jade Dynasty was shut down back in 2018 by Perfect World, so the fact the publisher wants to bring it back is a surprise. Jade Dynasty World's announcement trailer revealed the title is receiving some in-game visual improvements and smoother combat overall. Fans familiar with the original will see this title more as a reboot with better graphical fidelity than an entirely new experience.
Perfect World is starting a pre-alpha test on August 19, but the catch is that it'll be in Chinese. However, there don't seem to be any restrictions globally since the official website's QR code to sign-up is available. Judging from how there hasn't been news on a global launch, it may be possible that the game will stay regional for a while to test the waters. Though, that's all speculation on my part since the game is still young development-wise.
