Afrofantasy MMORPG The Wagadu Chronicles Will Enter Early Access In Less Than A Month
The game is chock-full of roleplay mechanics and features a turn-based combat system.
This one looks neat!
Indie developer Twin Drums announced the launch date of their Afrofantasy MMORPG The Wagadu Chronicles, set for Steam Early Access on December 4. The game focuses on roleplay mechanics and a turn-based combat system, allowing up to 12 players in one battle. There’s also a rhythm-based fishing mini-game, village upgrades, and Oware-styled PvP (a type of mancala, which is an abstract strategy board game.)
Back in 2020, The Wagadu Chronicles raised about $175K on Kickstarter. Since then, Twin Drums has been engaging with players through art and gameplay previews, as well as conducting alpha tests — with the latest concluding in April. There’s way more to discover in December though, and players will still be able to contribute to the game's evolution as it progresses through development stages.
