Activision Blizzard President Shuts Down NFT Talk
But...they are doing some polling on them anyway.
Just in case the Square Enix blockchain news wasn’t enough talk about digital currency for you today, we now have news from the Activision Blizzard camp. This news goes in the opposite direction...sort of. By that, I mean that the company is apparently doing polling on people's interests in NFT, but company President Mike Ybarra says NFTs aren't happening.
Ybarra issued the statement via Twitter yesterday following a tweet from Andy Robinson of VGC tweeting about the poll and specifically referencing NFTs and 'play to earn' games. The poll, hosted by research firm YouGov, was much bigger than that, covering graphics, cloud-based gaming, monetization, and more. But, since NFTs was the subject of Robinson’s tweet, that’s what Ybarra responded to, stating simply, "No one is doing NFTs."

As with everything Blizzard and NFT related, the tweet earned mixed responses. Some were happy to hear the news. Others are concerned that Blizzard was polling about NFTs at all if they have no plans to use them. As with most things, we’ll probably just have to wait and see.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
