Activision Blizzard is reportedly not done with redundancy layoffs just yet as reports indicate that the Cork office in Ireland may be looking at what would be a pretty sizeable cut considering their number of staff.

According to a report in the Irish Examiner, Blizzard may be cutting 136 staff. The Cork office employs about 200 individuals and has been in operation since 2007. The number of staff to be impacted comes from Irish Deputy Prime Minister Michéal Martin, who called the cuts “very serious” for those who will be affected.

The layoffs aren’t a surprise in and of themselves as, according to a report in January, Blizzard notified the Government of potential layoffs. That said, at the time they did not indicate how many employees would be impacted.

What’s more, according to Irish MP and member of the political party People Before Profits Mick Barry, Activision Blizzard is also refusing to work with the trade union that represents its staff in Cork. Barry goes on to state that, “companies should not be allowed to waltz into this country, announce life-changing cutbacks to people’s jobs, and simply refuse to talk to the representatives chosen by people who have given long years of service to their employer.”
