Activision Blizzard Creates New EVP Corporate Affairs And Chief Communications Officer Role
The new role is being filled by board member Lulu Cheng Meservey
The executive shuffle continues at Activision Blizzard with the creation of a new role intended to “shape the company’s strategic direction” and “lead its communications efforts”. As you can probably tell by the description, the new role is really two jobs in one. It will be filled by current board member Lulu Cheng Meservey, who has been a member of the board since April, though she’s relinquishing that position in order to take on this new one.
In addition to being a board member, Meservey was also part of the workplace responsibility committee formed following the harassment and discrimination lawsuit filed in July 2021. Now, she will be replacing Frances Townsend as part of her new role and states that she sees “ a big opportunity to share the true story of Activision Blizzard with [their] talented employees and hundreds of millions of players around the world.” As she sees it there is a “gap between [public] perception and reality.” Apparently, she intends to bridge this gap.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
