Third Person MOBA Predecessor Boats 1 Million Players During Open Beta
That's a lot of folks.
Available on Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X|S, the third-person MOBA known as Predecessor is now reporting over 1 million registered players.
Rising from the ashes of Paragon, Predecessor combines strategic thinking and teamwork with third-person action combat. For those unfamiliar with Paragon, the, well, predecessor to Predecessor, it's a pretty typical MOBA in the vein of something like SMITE. You push lanes, fight minions and enemy players, buy items, and attempt to infiltrate and destroy the enemy base.
Steam Charts shows over 4,000 actively playing on just Steam as of this writing, and you can add that to players on the Epic Store, PS5, and Xbox X|S. That seems like a pretty healthy player base, at least for the moment. The question remains, can Predecessor hold on to those players unlike Paragon, which never really took off and died when Epic Games found their big hit in Fortnite.
We'll have a First Look video up in the next few days for Predecessor, so keep your eyes open for that. I'm diligently playing the game and working on the First Look. Until then you can check out Predecessor on any of the fine platforms listed above for free during the Open Beta.
