Additional Maintenence Required: World of Warplanes Delayed
World of Warplanes has been sitting on the open beta tarmac for a while now, its propeller spinning, patiently watching as other more thunderous Warplanes have taken off into release. Now as World of Warplanes nears its original scheduled release date of September 26, it seems as though its inaugural flight has been delayed.
On the bright side of things, the release date wasn't set to an unknown date, potentially forever trapping World of Warplanes in some pseudo beta purgatory. The new release date is set for November 12th, a little over six weeks after the original. So what prompted the small setback? In the news post on the official World of Warplanes site Vlad Belozerov, World of Warplanes' Director of Global Operations mentioned:
“We are committed to releasing a great title and are doing everything to ensure that World of Warplanes gets the final polish we believe the game needs. The extra time will allow the development team to fine-tune the game balance and make sure that every feature is top-notch before launch.”
Any experienced earned in World of Warplanes during the period before the official release will carry over and will be distributed evenly between the pilots of the tier 1 warplanes. Players can also continue collecting tokens to spend on Premium time which applies to both World of Warplanes and World of Tanks accounts.
The real question at this point is will the polish added during these upcoming weeks be enough to enable World of Warplanes to take on the elephant in the room? That elephant being War Thunder. What do you think?
